Nam Chantepie from San Diego sent me some great shots of his stunning 2011 Triumph Thruxton. His carbon fiber hydrographic (water transfer paint) really give his bike a unique look and has quite a list of specs (listed below) to follow.

Brough Superior SS100

The Brough Superior is a legendary marque in the motorcycle world, best known the super high-end, high-performance machines. Often likened to "the Rolls Royce of motorcycles", if you owned a Brough, you were a lucky man. George Brough was a racer, designer, and showman - he personally certified by him, making sure each bike was up to his high standards.  The original SS100 model was ridden at 100 mph (160 km/h) or more prior to delivery - starting in 1924.  The last Brough Superior was produced in 1940...until now.

Austrian-based businessman Mark Upham now controls the brand name, and is putting out a new SS100. Staying true to form, the bike will be made of top-notch materials and be a high-performance machine - just like its predecessors. The new SS100 997cc 88° V-twin, DOHC capable of 140 hp, and only weighing 395 lbs (180kg).
The frame is a steel and titanium tubular trellis. The front is suspended by a double wishbone Ohlins shock offering 120 mm travel. The rear is a progressive Ohlins system as well, with 130 mm of travel.The fit and finish of the bike is superior, as it rightfully should be. At frist glance, the front brakes don't appear to be anything special, but they certainly are. The front braking system consists of 4D Ceramic Beringers, 2x floating double discs, aluminum-ceramic composite material, diameter 230 mm, 2x four pistons calipers with radial fixation and special sintered metal pads.
Small numbers are going into production this year for an estimated $65,000 USD.  As Chris Hunter suggested, Geroge Brough would likely be happy with the overall specifications of the bike but the aesthetics are still in the eye of the beholder.

YAMAHA RX-KING Tetaplah RAJA


Halo Brades en Sistes semua, Apabila para Bloger Kondang tanah air sedang rame-ramenya ngebahas tentang lahirnya Motor-motor Baru seperti ; New CBR 250 dan Bajaj Pulsar 220, Saya malah ingin berNostalgia dengan mantan Produk unggulannya Pabrikan Yamaha di Indonesia,, yaitunya Yamaha RX-KIng..
Menurut pengamatan Saya, Motor ini mengalami puncak kejayaan dan masa keemasannya pada taun 2005an. Dari mulai di lahirkan sekitar taun 1983 dengan nama RX-K motor ini begitu menggetarkan hati setiap BIKERs yang cinta kecepatan.. Namun seiring dengan Program penerapan standart UERO 2 untuk setiap emisi kendaraan bermotor yang diProduksi di Indonesia, maka pihak YMkI pun mau tak mau harus memodifikasi mesin si Raja, utamanya bagian pembuangan agar Sang RX- Raja tetap bisa menempati singgasananya di jalanan Tanah Air..


Meski sebelum Program Pemerintah tersebut di gulirkan sebenarnya Pihak YMKI atau Yamaha Indonesia telah menyiapkan pengganti Sang Raja (Yamaha Scorpio 225), namun di karenakan animo pasar terhadap sang pengganti tidak begitu cemerlang maka tidak ada opsi lain selain mempertahankan Sang RX-KING walau dibutuhkan dana lebih untuk modifikasi tehnologi Emisi gas buang Sang RX Raja untuk sesuai dengan standart UERO 2..


Ternyata, ISU akan pelarangan Motor bermesin 2 Tak atau yang menggunakan Oli Samping di jalanan Kota Oleh Pemerintah yang di hembuskan entah oleh siapa pada sekitaran tahun 2006 cukup menciutkan minat para Bikers tanah Air terhadap si Raja, di tambah lagi dengan penurunan Performa Sang RX-KING Uero 2 dan tindakan YMKi yang men Discontinue Produk-Produk 2 tak nya seperti F1ZR, YT dan RX-Special semakin menambah Suram Nasib Penjualan RX-KiNG Uero 2..


Memang, Power Yang Sadist dan tampilan yang Bengis sosok RX-KING model lama seolah tak dapat tergantikan lagi.. Dan seperti sudah menjadi Harga Mati bahwa Sosok RX- KING harus lah Garang dengan Headlamp Kotaknya.. Sampai akhirnya YMKI resmi menDiscontinue Sang Raja Akhir 2009 lalu. Meski sudah tidak di Produksi lagi, namun bukan berarti berhenti begitu Saja kisah keperkasaan Sang RX- Raja ini, Dan terbukti hingga saat ini RX- King Tetap menempati singgasananya di hati Para penggemarnya..


Suku cadang Yang berlimpah dengan harga Yang relatif Murah dan tipe Mesin yang sederhana membuat Yamaha RX – King tetap ber Jaya Di jalanan Tanah Air hingga Sekarang..
Dan Bukan Hanya Eksistensinya Saja yang membahana, harga jual Sang Raja Pun Masih Cukup bagus untuk pasaran Motor Bekas yang sudah discontinue (khususnya di daerah).. Jujur, Hentakan Powernya pada @rpm menengah membuat Saya begitu menyukai Si Raja Jalanan Ini..

Ducati x Puma Cafe Racer

Walt Siegl definitely knows how to put out a nice custom Ducati.  His 'leggero' customs are all are stunning, and this one here, commissioned for Puma is no different.  The base motor is a '93 2-Valve Ducati 900 SS which is now blue printed BCM 944 big bore unit.  
The bike has a full carbon kevlar body and chromoly frame weighing a combined 30 lbs. The exhaust is a custom stainless steel system with an Italian Mivv muffler. The electrical system is minimal and built around a Motogadget m-Unit to get rid of all the relays.

The Puma Ducati is currently at the Puma International offices in Boston, USA but hopefully it gets to see some track time too.  It's clear that bike was built to run a track or open road - not collect a runway.
